In 2015, inspired by the methodologies of The 4-Hour Workweek, The Lean Startup and The $100 Startup, three friends from Sydney got together at Bondi beach to discuss an idea. Together we stood at the proverbial basecamp of our own entrepreneurial careers and decided it was time to take the first step. Lukla Ventures was born, a business driven by an urgent mission to reduce the impact of global consumerism and supported by our combined experience in Digital Marketing, eCommerce and Venture Capital.
As a team, we’re convinced that “health is the new wealth”, and so we began to look at launching companies within the health and fitness sector. Using Hong Kong and Sydney as our headquarters, we set off across the world to find inspiration.
Beyond our aspirations of building a profitable business, we set out to build a business that we would genuinely want to work at. We are not only mobile, wholly online and have been turning a profit from day one, but we are also acutely aware of our environmental impact and strongly believe in building sustainability into every product we sell and every partnership we make.
Office cubicles, long commutes and fixed work hours can have a negative impact on productivity and creativity. We are a remote team, working from diverse locations across the world, experiencing shifts in global trends in real-time and walking side by side with our consumers. We don’t believe in the bipolar notion of having a “work” and “personal” life. We have one life, and we intend to enjoy it.
Covering three continents.
